This series of screen-printed work depicts the Sculpture Court of The Edinburgh College of Art. It is the place where almost all important events, such as many degree shows and exhibitions, are held at the ECA. I was keen to represent the majestic presence of the space through print.
This is a series of 35 individual prints (here just a selection), each and every one being different from the other. It was achieved by improvising with a handful of separations, by constantly changing the order of the layered colours and by changing the position of the paper with each pulled print. For me, this was a good exercise in distancing myself from edition printing by working with the medium and making spontaneous decisions.
