Echo Mobile Library is an independent organization based in Greece. With titles in more than 10 languages, Echo provides library sessions and a safe space to the people on the move who live (temporarily) in refugee camps around the city of Athens. The van has been rolling its wheels loaded with books and a team of passionate librarians and volunteers since 2016. The multilingual library reaches out 5 camps + 2 community centers and is driving more than 450km every week.

I created a visual identity for the van based on their existing logo’s colours (not my own work). The team gave me complete freedom to create a series of stickers that would adorn both the front of the van and its sides. The mark-making is based on my own experimentations with texture and rubber stampping printed marks. The original small prints were scaled up and layered to suggest the variety of books that the library hosts, as well as arranged in a playful way to appeal to the younger library users.
